Boom… The Static comes in slow
You can feel it grow
Our stream of conscience flows
Under the streets below
Ooooh
Ooooh
The rivers made of sound
Still running underground
Runs like a silent flood
We run as thick as blood
Can you hear it rise
Up from the ground
Can’t drown it out
Can you hear it now
This is the sound of a heartbeat
This is the sound from the discontented mouths
Of a haunted nation
We are the voice of breaking down
Can you hear me?
This is the sound of the desperation bound
By our own collision
We are the voice of breaking down
The static comes alive
Beneath the broken skies
John Perkins said it right
Love is the final fight
Oooh
Oooh
Let it rise above
Rise above
There is no song
Louder than love
This is the sound of a heartbeat
this is the sound from the discontented mouths
of a haunted nation
we are the voice of breaking down
Can you hear me?
This is the sound of the desperation bound
by our own collision
we are the voice of breaking down
Down
Down
Down
Let it rise above
Up from the ground
Can’t drown it out
Can you hear it now
This is the sound of a heartbeat
This is the sound of the discontented mouths
Of a haunted nation, we are the voice of breaking down
Can you hear me
This is the sound of the desperation bound
by our condition, we are the voice of breaking down
This is the sound
This is the sound
during final season, theres always a debate over which is worse papers or tests.. usually this debate is based on a pure competition: “my finals schedule sucks..I WIN!” or cry of desperation:”PITY me” or out of jealousy: “ugh you’ve got it easier than me” or just pure pessimism: “my life sucks” or loss of purpose: “why am i doing this?”. OR it could be a mix of all..
so i’ll lay out the arguments for both..
ill try to be neutral as possible but maybe you can figure out…
for test:
- you never know what is going on the test.
no matter what the teacher says about the test material.. there is always that chance that they may change it or surprise you with random material
- sucks if you have procrastinated the whole year.
theres no possible way to catch up to everything that was taught the whole year in two days. how can all that material be covered in those few pages of the test? where do you start studying?
- siting in a room for two hours straight is hard.
studying for many hours, days, or perhaps weeks (if you’re a overachiever. ahem.) is just ridiculous for just a couple of hours of your life.
- multiple choice vs short answers vs long answers
sure multiple choice theres 25% chance that you’ve got the right answer.. but what about the other 75%!!!! the wrong bubbling can be disastrous!! and those darn scan-trons.. do people not get worried that they may have made random pencil marks without noticing! all those bubbles to fill in!! theres so many of them that your eyes might start spazing and you end up filling the bubble (this phenomenon can occur if you did not sleep the night before the test..). Short answers vs long answers: what is considered short and how long is long? What is the limit? how are you not tempted to write more just hoping that something you wrote answers the questions. what about grammar and punctuation? there is no delete button for written words on a blue book. your professor will know if you misspelled a word.. no spell check. fail.
-if you’re memory sucks..
you can’t study enough.. you just have re read it until you’ve memorized it all. thats the only way.. of course this never happens when you have other test materials to memorize. do they not know that you’re not just taking their final but other finals as well. darn these narcissistic professors..
-can’t go freely to the bathroom
your body has to time itself well… cause that extra time is precious. during that time you could have checked over your questions one more time. ALWAYS go to the bathroom before the test. if you’re smart you don’t drink any fluids, especially coffee, right before a test. if you’re lactose, definitely not any diary products.. hopefully you don’t get a huge stomach ache.. cause then that sucks. diarrhea? lethal during a test.
for paper:
- time management.
managing time during finals is the hardest.. especially because you have to do at least three other finals.. figure out how long it will take you to write the pages: how many days, how many hours, how many weeks (depending on the length). Even planning out when to write it takes up time.
- your eyes hurt
writing papers imply computers, monitor screens.. they screw with your eyes, especially if you stare at it for hours.
- its not a group process
you are on your own. no study group, no breaking down of the material and making study guides. you don’t write papers as you converse with other people. no matter how much you want to argue that conversing with people give you more ideas. its not true. unless you’re writing about the same thing or its a creative writing piece. it doesn’t work that way. you only need to wrestle with the research or material you have found.
-risk of procrastination
most dangerous for procrastinators… somewhere in the back of their mind.. ehh i could do this tomorrow. this only takes me 2 hours. overconfidence in one’s ability is very easy when there isn’t a specific time set aside for the paper. there’s really no one looking over you making sure you’re writing the paper. the professor doesn’t even know that you didn’t even read the material that was assigned to you.
-too much material
you can always find more resources to help support your thesis, the sources are unlimited. this should be good.. BUT the amount of material you can put in depends on the research you are able to find, which means that unless you’re good at finding research, you’re screwed. if you don’t have good points to back up your thesis.. F-
- no excuses
if you do badly on the paper, its your fault. you could have always spent more time on it. you could have looked over the paper just one more time. fixing that grammar, that awkward wording. clarified that subject a bit more. made sure you weren’t repetitive. give it a bit of a sophisticated feel to it by using SAT words.
with all that said….
sometimes i think its a personality preference or is it an interest preference like those who like literature, english, etc tend to say papers while those that like science, math, etc like to say tests.. or am i wrong? is it the other way around those who like the arts go for the test and those who like the sciences go for the paper?
what is the point of all this??? there is no point.. its just a means of procrastination.
findings in Luke 2
…But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart…And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart…
email posting is possible in tumblr?!?!?!? if this works, tumblr is freakin AWESOME! this means im fully converting to tumblr and leaving blogspot.. can’t believe i didn’t find this earlier.
peanuts take on theology…
makes me think of how one approaches theology..
snoopy is wise… xP
“has it ever occurred to you that you might be wrong?”
one either learns theology
1. to find out that one might be wrong..
2. with the mentality of proving theology to be wrong..
but theology ends up pwning you and you become more thankful for the Word. It ends up becoming a means to an end.. a humbling experience that leads you to delve into His promises and personally encounter Him.
these are the BEST clementines ever! somehow Sun Pacific has found a way to combine the sweet taste of mandarins with the small CUTE size of clementines.. Cuties are classified as mandarin clementines or Murcott mandarins.
the small compact size of these babies (haha they’re literally babies) causes you to consume an enormous amount such as 10 Cuties in one siting and perhaps the whole bag in a day..
Usually I’m against messing with nature such as vegetative propagation—creating new (ahem..mutated) versions of fruits (such as the orange grapefruit, the size of a grapefruit but taste of an orange)—but this clementine mandarin is just divine to snack on.
Its so miniature that you can just pop the whole cutie into your mouth.
Awesome features!!
-the peel is so thin that it is very easy to peel and thus more accessible to eat faster and to enjoy..AND none of the yucky white gunk under your nails!
-its ALWAYS seedless! There will be no surprise attack by that random seeds like from the original clementines
-it never fails to satisfy your taste for citrus-y goodness with an excellent source of Vitamin C.
it tastes so good you want to savor every slice so you take the extra time to separate each slice and place that sweet tangy source of goodness into your mouth.
yum.
so please be gentle with these cute babies for they are very small but do not let their delicate nature and miniature size deter you from devouring and savoring each slice!
i hope you are pleasantly satisfied with its scrumptious flavor.
enjoy~ :)

i guess thats one way to look at marriage..
galatians 2:20 is the life statement of any Christian but do we take ownership of it?
is it evident in our lives?
Does my love for God grow everyday?
In one day, the year of 2009 is drawing to an end.
Have I loved God more this year than last year?
Am I anticipating for my love for Him to grow the coming year?
A wise man named John Piper has said,
“God is most glorified in you when you are most satisfied in Him.”
Before this year is gone cause one cannot reallocate time that is lost.
Did I spend this past year wisely for it to count for eternity?
Who are the people in my life that God has placed who are blessings to me this past year?
time is ticking away… to die is to gain but to live is Christ. :)
